Mo Webster returns home from England following the death of her beloved husband Ron, and pursues a dream they had shared of fostering children in need. Mo’s childhood home, Yggdrasil, becomes a haven, not only for Mo and her cousin Puddin, a Desert Storm veteran, but also for an array of lost, forlorn and damaged children who need the healing space of Yggdrasil. The wisdom and care of Granny Mo enables them to rediscover the adventure of childhood, with all the dangers of climbing trees, sinking rafts, riding horses and getting into scrapes that are so necessary to the process of growing up. While strife is never far away in this mixed up world of troubled children, Granny Mo’s hand is always present if not always seen and her almost mystical understanding of the needs of the children enables them to find a new way forward, a hope for the future.
