Celebrity TV auctioneer Kevin Haskell limps home to Adelaide with his nine year old daughter Ally, after the bizarre murder of his wife, and the collapse of his television show. From day one of rebuilding his life, working for Barry Gradys’ Realty, something is very off centre. There’s something strange about the houses he’s selling, they all have a history of violent deaths - and there’s something even stranger about the people he’s selling them to. While at school Ally’s struggling to settle in. Despite the help of her sympathetic teacher Cathy, weird things are happening to Ally too, which results in Kevin being suspected of abusing her. An increasingly disturbed Kevin starts digging after the truth, finding an unexpected ally in Cathy, and discovers the dark secret of Gradys’ Realty. Their trade is not so much real estate, as reconnecting dispossessed souls with the homes in which they’ve committed grotesque crimes. In the midst of this is the trapped soul of Kevin’s dead wife, and the price of freeing her soul is to lose his own.
